PRE-K PHILOSOPHY AND METHODOLOGY

At Al-Minar our pre-K program focuses on the whole child instead of just the academics. Our curriculum is designed to promote the physical, mental and spiritual development of every student. Our key focuses are on the followings....

Help Build Strong Moral Values

According to the Early Childhood Development study, children start to show morally-based behaviors and belief between the age of 2 and 5. Children's experiences at home and the environment around them influence their developing sense of right vs. wrong. At Al-Minar we become the partner to parents to help build strong moral values and faith in every child. All reading materials and story-time books are carefully chosen to instill a deep sense of Islamic values and inspire them to be sensitive and compassionate about other group members.

Teach Quran Reading and Arabic Language

Language learning is a natural process when children are young. Research has shown that foreign language study in the early elementary years improves cognitive abilities, positively influences achievement in other disciplines, and results in higher achievement in reading and math. At Al-Minar, our native Arabic speaking teacher teaches Arabic and Quran Reading in a fun and engaging way. Students will be engaged in perfecting oral Arabic phonics, learning proper tajweed rules for reading Quran, vocabulary enrichment, and Arabic conversational skills. This sets the milestone for understanding Quran and reciting Quran beautifully later on.

All Academic Curriculum, Inspired by Montessori approach

Our primary goal is to foster and enhance each child’s natural sense of joy and wonder. We feel that children should delight in childhood, that the school day must include laughter and the buzz of creative silliness. We want students to love school and the process of learning.

We believe the relationship is the foundation of all learning. Our teachers establish an atmosphere of acceptance and trust. The three-year cycle with the same teacher helps create a strong bond between the child and the teacher,

A play-based approach is adopted in the classroom to encourage creative learning, reading, acting, singing.... making the school feel like a home - safe, warm and friendly.
